Well, some answers and lots of questions

we know it is not a tumor.
we know her gall bladder will be coming out

we do not know why her liver is screwed up.
Here is what we will know soon
Abby may have an autoimmune disease where her body is actually creating antibodies against itself and killing healthy tissue. The next target appears to be her liver. She will be having a biopsy of her liver to determine any or all of the following
1) an autoimmune disease of the liver
2) a cirhosis type disease of the liver
3) a hepatitis type disease of the liver

some of these are spontaneous some are related to everything else in her life.

She has really thrown the docs for a major loop this time. Believe it or not this all started with a bad case of constant scratching which is very indiciative of liver problems. Her lab work has leveled off but there is a lot we do not know yet.

Most of this stuff is treatable but not curable.

Big picture. It appears as Abby has something going on inside of her body that is causing her body to slowly go after major tissue. Why we do not know. Long term outlook is unknown. Liver transplant? possible? Death? absolutely possible (sorry we are absolute realists about this)

She is scheduled for a test tomorrow at Uof Penn that the will look at some of her "duct work" that is preliminary before the gall bladder surgery.

thanks for all of the cards. They have been great
