Things I'm curious about:
1. Why doesn't the Yankees (and I think the Red Sox?) have their names on their jerseys?
2. Why are the Twins called the Twins? I noticed on their hats there is a T and a C. Does that stand for the Twin-Cities?

Tradition. They were the first pro franchise to put numbers on the backs of jerseys. I assume they didn't want to clutter the overall Yankees uniform which hasn't changed in many, many, many years.

And when they put the numbers on the jerseys, their number represented their position in the batting order. Hence, Ruth was #3 because he batted 3rd in the order.
And the Red Sox have their names onthe away jerseys, but not the home ones. But even that didn't happen until the 80's if I remember right.

The current Browns offense plays like and appears to be members of the old St. Louis Browns baseball team.

Correct, which means there were 2 professional teams names the Browns to relocate to Baltimore. (St Louis - MLB and Cleveland - NFL)
More trivia, the Yankees started off as the original Baltimore Orioles franchise in the 1900's.

Let's just throw more fuel on the flames of knowledge...
Ruth and Gehrig members of the famous Murderer's Row of the 1920's NY Yankees were originally Red Sox. The owner of the Red Sox, Mr Yawkey wanted to build a a new stadium in the Fenway of Boston so he sold Ruth and Gehrig to the NY Yankees - This is the actual start of the "Curse of the Bambino".
Tuesday will once again show who the better team is.
I'm being polite here but suffice it to say I live in NY.

Boston on the away and Red Sox on the home, right?

Names on the back of the jerseys that have pinstripes look like dog poo. At least the Yankees figured that one out. Cubs and White Sox, you listening?

You're wrong on so many levels it's comical.
Yes Babe once belonged to the Red Sox, but 15 years before Yawkey even owned the team. Fenway Park was opened in 1912. Ruth was sold to the Yankees in 1919. Seems like the timing wasn't exactly right to finance the new stadium, eh?
Gehrig was never on the Sox.
Do you just make this stuff up?

I thought you were talking about the players names. If you were talking about team names...
The Yankees have "New York" on the front of their away jerseys and the intertwined "NY" on their home jerseys.
The Red Sox have "Boston" on their away jerseys and "Red Sox" on their home jerseys.

LAST names, got it.
I was confused.
Remember when the NFL didn't allow any city or mascot names on their uniforms? It was because they were "professionals" and everyone should know who the teams were. That was prior to marketing revenue, now they all have a little patch on the front.

And the old AFL was the only league with players names on their Jersey's.
