Good morning!

I bought a pair of Saucony Kilkenny Xc Spikes, which were on sale for $30, this weekend and have fallen in LOVE with their look--they are the green and yellow men's version. Of course, I bought them with the intention of training in them--but I am now thinking that I want to retire them a bit early and wear them as a casual shoe that I can wear for everyday knock-around purposes.

My questions are as follows: Could I run into some kind of problem wearing these shoes around town casually if I install blanks in them? Should I definitely install blanks in them? Could I possibly damage my feet (I know it sounds like a crazy question--but you never know--I have only used track shoes as, well, track shoes in the past) or the shoe? Will I look like a total nerd walking around the mall in a pair of Xc spikes? I know that the current fashion is sort of a throw-back to the 70s and 80s track shoe--and these have a very retro look--not to mention that green is my all-time favorite color.

Any and all opinions would be much welcomed! Thanks!
