Posted: 11/19/04 - 20:15 Post subject: What is on your Thanksgiving menu?
I know it's not here yet, but I will do the shopping tomorrow.
We are having:
Mushrooms stuffed with escargot, tomatoes, parmesan, parsley, and chives
Brandied Sweet potatoes
Creamed Potatoes with peas and pearl onions
Turkey roasted/glazed with peaches/peach brandy
Dressing with cranberries and pecans
"Traditional" dressing with sage, celery, and thyme
Fresh watercress, arugula, and radicchio salad with endive, gorgonzola, and pecans
Bread pudding with raisins, chocolate, and rum.
Fresh wheat rolls.
A bunch of champagne!
(Can you tell no one here is on a low-carb diet?)
We are having our Thanksgiving on Wednesday, because Larry works the rest of the weekend.
So, what's on your menu this year? When do you have Thanksgiving? Early afternoon, or dinner hour?
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

We are having 2 dinners on Thanksgiving day. About noon we will go to Bishops, a buffet with my Mom and Grandma. Then late afternoon to my Dads for traditional Thanksgiving dinner, turkey and all the fixins. I'm glad cuz 1 year he had saurkraut. DH was the only one who ate, the kids and I hate it. Gross me out to the max.

Since there are only 4 of us and 2 of us are smallish, we're going easy on the food. Turkey breast, mashed potatoes, green beans, peas, macncheese, and a pie of some sort. We'll make our own whipped cream for the pie too.

Well, I'm going to Baton Rouge LA and I was thinking we'd have oysters and crawfish and blackened catfish and beneighs and muffalattas and gator tail and all that with hot sauce on it, but nooooo.......
we're gonna have turkey, cornbread dressing, sweet taters, mashed taters, gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.......

Post race breakfast of hash-brown quiche.
Dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes w/gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, baked beans, cornbread, bread stuffing, rolls. Dessert of pumpkin pie, ice cream, and LC is making something else as well, but I can't remember what.

We are having a mass meeting in NJ
To the best of my knowledge we will be having
turkey and ham
cole slaw, mashed taters, sweet taters and yams with some sort of sweet stuff on it (I do not eat them). Assorted veggies and salads to include the infamous baked string beans casserole with onion rings.
Desserts will run the gamut from pumpkin pies to cakes to cheesecake.
Then we pass out due to carbo and fat overload...

You couldn't even spring for a Kentucky Fried Turkey?

Turkey is over-rated.

Half Marathon
followed by Beer, Football and a lot of food with just the Boiler Family. The menu is still being worked on by Mrs. Boiler. I know that a 13 pound turkey is involved.
