I can't deal withthe jaw ache anymore, and it was either Saturday or in March. They absolutely have to go; they are causing me some pain and also you can see on X-rays where they are pushing my other teeth out of alignment in the back.
SO, I'll be back at work on MOnday, right? I have a deadline and I have to be.
WHo's had this done? How bad was it? I am not a pain wimp (remember, I ran for three months on an undiagnosed stress fracture in my femur) but Larry (B/F) keeps telling me horror stories about his. He's kind of freaking me out.

You'll be just fine. The worst part is the novocaine shots to numb you. Just make sure you've got a dentist who's careful about making sure you're fully numb.
Do exactly what they tell you after (no straws, no sucking), and take some Tylenol or Advil, and you should be just fine by Monday.

back in the dark ages when i was 19, i had four wisdom teeth removed. two were impacted and had to be dug out of the jawbone.
i got nauseated from being put under.
the impacted sites were alot slower to heal than the others. they also caused my lower jaw to swell alot more than the upper. i was a true chipmunk for two days.
no real horror stories. it's not the most fun you'll have but i bet you'll be glad you did it cuz nothing is worse than nagging tooth pain. go for it!!

I second that! Do what the Doc tells you, and you should be fine! I had it
done on a Friday afternoon and missed no school at all!
Good luck! You'll be glad you got this done!

Don't eat too soon afterward no matter how good you feel. You'll be upchucking before you know it.

Thanks for the information, everyone!. They are using an IV drip (I guess they have to cut through part of the jawbone) Something tells me I won't be wanting to eat anyway...they are doing all three....

Hey! I had mine removed three years ago and didn't whine one bit. Didn't even need any of the painkillers they prescribed. You'll have swollen cheeks for a day probably but the pain is tolerable.

I had all four taken out at once two years ago. It was totally easy.
I did not even have a problem with my cheeks getting puffy.
And, I got to discover the wonders of Vicodin!
You will be fine, and will recover very quickly! I had it done Saturday and was fine by Monday.

They pulled two of mine in the afternoon and I went to a company function later that evening and no one could even tell that I'd had it done. Totally painless.

This was exactly my experience, Charlotte the Chipmunk for about three days, but other than that, no lingering side effects. Best to get it done now and be out of pain. If they get more impacted the procedure will be much worse, and there could be nerve damage. I was close to that when I had mine done because I put it off too long.
And NO pushing it and trying to run the next day or I will come out there and kick your chipmunky ass!

I had all 4 taken out about 2 years ago on a Friday. By Saturday afternoon I was mowing the lawn since I was bored of laying around. Mrs Boiler wokeup from a nap and freaked out when she heard the lawn mower and say me out there.
Ditto all the comments about following the doctors orders and you will be fine!
