Posted: 02/26/03 - 21:56 Post subject: Update: The Diagnosis
Jen and I met with the Pulmonologist tonight. He was very good. He is calling this Mild Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. He put me on a 18 day
regiment of steroid (prednisone) and also put me on Advair in place of the Flovent Still no exercise for at least another 2 weeks, but that's cool. Wants to get everything under control first. As for the chest pain, all related to my asthma flare up, and will go away once I get things under control.
I see him again in 2 weeks
Side note the echo cardiogram results was not faxed, he even called and they were to send them over at that moment, nope. He is going to call me tomorrow with those results, so for now the pulmonary artery question is unanswered, but for now at least we have some answers.
Actually got some real good sleep 9+ hours last night. That itself made a big difference, I felt better than I have in a long time today.
Thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
Greg

Sounds like things are looking better for you Greg. Good to hear. That 18 day plan with the prednisone will help you a bunch. Hopefully the pulmonary artery issue will be minor as well.
Glad to hear that you're finally getting some sleep.

I'm really glad to hear that! Not that you have this, but that they have diagnosed it. You must feel a lot better now. I was worried that this would be another dead end. Take care of yourself!

Great to hear that you are tracking down the issues. Take care of yourself so you can get back on the roads and pound that pavement with the rest of us.

Cool! Mild is good; it's still probably going to take bit to get over, but that's good news. Hope you can continue to get plenty of rest; hopefully the weather will improve soon and make revoery a bit easier!!! Take care!

Whew!! Sounds like good news in part, anyway. And it's only a couple more weeks on the bench, hopefully, and you'll be back in action. This is way better news than I expected! Yippee!!

Definitely good news Greg. Advair is good stuff - that's the med I'm on twice a day. My asthma issues have been non-existant since my body adjusted to using it.
