I watched this movie last night and I must say it was very long, not what I expected and just okay.
It seemed like every other word was the F bomb and the N bomb.
When Mrs. Boiler told me she had brought it home from the Library I was thinking she had brought home Remember the Titans.
Oh well.

Denzel Washington won an Academy Award for that movie. I remember being disturbed by how he was pure evil in that movie. He didn't have a redeeming quality about him. And he was a cop? It gave me the willies.

That was the whole point! He won the Oscar because that was so not him or who he typically plays.
I LOVED that movie! You two are the only ones who didn't love it that I know.

I wasn't disturbed because it was Denzel being evil, but because he was a cop.

that movie was a disgrace. It makes people think that cops are all dirty and skim some of the top. It is so stinking rare but hollywood seems to think that all cops are dishonest and thieves themselves.
Denzel is far better than the part he played. The movie sucks

Though I didn't hate the movie, I certainly didn't feel that it was Oscar worthy. It is pretty common for the academy to award oscars for bodies of work and not on individual projects. Hence you get a situation where Denzel Washington receives an award on what is arguably not his best film, or even an oscar worthy one.
