Many of you have sent me PM's about my son, Palmer, who has been battling leukemia since November 2000. I cannot thank all of you enough.
Today, cancer lost.
Palmer completed his 130 week course of chemotherapy last night, and a bone marrow/spinal fluid test today confirmed what we've prayed for every day for 2 1/2 years: The chemotherapy did its job, and he is in remission. There are no leukemia cells present. None. Nada. Zip.
We'll have monthly blood testing for a year, and then the tests will be less frequent. He's not tecnically cured until he's five years off treatment, but he definitely got over a huge hurdle today.
If you hear someone screaming from the rooftop tonight, please don't call the po-po. It's only me.
