This weeks dude of the week is from Pennsylvania.

If anyone has seen Band of Brothers they know one of the main characters in the story (which is complete fact and all happened), Richard Wiinters is my dude of the week. The guy was a humble,brave, honest courageous man. He want a Distinguished Service Cross (2nd highest medal anyone in the army can get). Led from the front, was well liked and respected by his men and led by example.

He served his country, did his duty, fought with honor, expected nothing in return.

So Major Richard Winters of Pennsylvania, Major of E Company, 506 PIR (parachute Infantry Regiment) of the 101st Airborne USA. You get the riff raff dude of the week award

Sidenote, if you have not seen Band of Brothers watch it. The book by Stephen Ambrose which it is based on is an excellent read also.

I don't think we have enough weeks to honor all the dudes from the all the Services! Thank God we have Veterans Day and Memorial Day to honor them all.
