I was a runner in cross country and track during high school. I like to run but, I sprained my ankle during high school quite a few times. I want to get back into running again but every time I run my muscle in leg gets really tense. I used to be able to run for miles with no problem but ever since I sprained it everything changed. I can only run at a slow pace for about a mile until my leg hurts and have to stop a minute or two. The pain starts from the top of my ankle and proceeds about six to seven inches up my leg (left leg, left side). It is no shin splint. I used different methods to help the pain. The only method that work were soles but, in the long run it still hurt. (worked for 2-3miles)
Anyone have any suggestions?
