My husband has diabetes and has got a very stressful working environment. He has started medication but they are not of much help. He gets stress about everything in life. It’s driving me nuts. If any of you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

Hello Kristopher. It sounds like your husband's work stress is really affecting both of you. What anxiety meds is he on and how's his blood sugar running? How long has he been on the meds? Hang in there. Trying to get anxiety and antidepressant meds adjusted is trial and error so be patient. Don't give up! Hopefully, the doc will find your husband's med combination quickly.

Stress is known to be associated with many known ailments including diabetes. Modern allopathic medicine may provide only temporary relief. I would suggest you to look into alternative therapies, one of them being Yoga. Check out this link: http://www.healingsociety.org/ilchilee/ilchilee.html these would really help.

I would also suggest going for some natural ways of relieving stress like yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, physical activity, music, sex, getting creative, etc
I understand that men may have trouble accepting these approaches but you should talk to him and make him realize and his stress is affecting both of you and that he needs to find a way to release that tension.
Stressed parents also have a very negative impact on their children. A recent study showed that stressed parents may lead to their children obesity.

sometimes it is hard for people to accept that simply relaxation is the cure... forget about medications - they will not help, if he is determined he is/ will be stressed..
we all work in stressful environment ... some more, some less...
going to the woods and simply yelling out loud helps - just make sure noone sees that
yoga, meditation, massage etc..

The best way to get over stress and depression is to take a break from your regular schedule, go out, and take good sleep. This helps in clearing the mind and try consulting a specialist who can suggest you as how you can get over your problem. There are various prescription drugs to get over anxiety and depression, but these should only be used in accordance with the instruction of a physician. There is a lot of fake selling of such medicines on internet, so before you can order it online just make sure it is a real pharmacy.
