I actually considered this one, but I've got 3 Texas marathons under my belt already and actually am thinking of doing Motorola as my first repeat. Plus, I'm looking for a fast course.

A second suggestion then...Houston! Its January 19, after when you are looking, but its a fast course thats not point to point, mild temps and a darn good vacation spot, if I do say so!! (not that I'm biased...) Mr. Green
Of course I'm guessing thats one of the 3 Texas marathons you've done already...but just throwing it out there....my little newly formed relay team may actually be in Austin too.

Nope...did not do that one....I worried about all the concrete and my bad knees--so I picked Forth Worth that year.....much against the advice of my club's coach. I also did San Antonio. I would definitely pick Houston (knees are stronger these days)....but it's in January and that is 2003...I want to get one in 2002 so I will have completed 3 marathons in one year (never have before)

But I just thought of another one......don't know why California Int'l didn't come up Marathonguide.com. Looks like a good course

Hey,
Don't forget Jacksonville on December 18th. It is super flat and shaded for a large portion of the race.

and a Wisconsite did quite well there last year, so it can't be too hot.

Sue, regarding the bus trip at Grandma's: if you go to the bathroom when you leave the hotel you should be okay for the ride to the start where there are port o pots a plenty, unless you have a hyperactive bladder before the start. My problem was going before I got into the start corral and then having to go again but there being noplace to go until we got on the course itself.

You mean this coming Decmeber? LC, Poky, Mr. Poky and I are going there for that one - LC's doing the 5K, and I think the rest of us are doing the half.
