Do you think that limitations are only in our heads? I mean, do you think that any of us would be able to reach at least average results if only he or she would have enough self-confidence and motivation? I’m convinced that our psyche has great if not almost complete influence on our performance. I think that the most important strength is mental strength.

I agree with you to a certain extent because what you claim implies that we all have the same abilities. It’s normal that even the ones that do not have certain abilities would progress more if they would be more self-confident and motivated but you can’t put it all down to psychological factors. I mean, it’s very obvious how mental strength can lead to victory or loss, because certain young athletes show variable results within only a few days time. That means that they’re capable of that best result they achieved, but their psyche is not that stable to enable them show and use all their capacities always. I do believe that all professional athletes should have a motivational psychologist in their expert teams.
