Posted: 06/13/04 - 16:54 Post subject: Indy marathon/half marathon???
Anyone thinking of doing this one?? I am strongly leaning toward the half as my first major distance race in almost 2.5 years and would love someone to be there at the end to pick up the body.....errr, I mean I'd love some company in town for the weekend....any takers?
Here's the website. http://www.indianapolismarathon.com/
I know it's right in the middle of fall marathon season but if you haven't picked a full yet, this looks like it might be a good race. Kobyj, can you give us the rundown on the course, etc?

I wish I could. Indy is my hometown, so I'll have to remember this for the future. (moved around the time I got my tricycle license, so can't help much with the course. My grandparents and relatives all lived there so I have a ton of good memories from Indy)

No on running it, G - I've been confirmed for Chicago.
But... we've never been to Indy (driven through on the way to somewhere else). With the expenses of the dental stuff I'm facing, long vacations are not in the picture, so this one is a good possibilty for a weekend thing.
And they will NOT drag you over the line. If I could do it, anyone can.

I'll consider this! It will depend on my vacation situation (or lack thereof).

This is a good idea. We have friends in Indy that we need to see anyways. Maybe I could run a leg of a relay after a marathon Oct 2? Is that doable? Or sensible?

If I go, I'm going to do the 5k. Seems this is what I'm training for, so that's probably what I should run.

If not, there's the 5K....or you could just come visit!!!! Two weeks after....it would probably depend on how you feel. But come anyway if you can, I'd love to meet you and I've been working on rob too.
Brie, that would be wonderful, see if you can swing a trip up....

I'm all for Bucca for our pre-race dinner. What is there to do after, is there a good place to go hang out?
Who's all coming now, so far I know for sure it's me, you and Shelly.
Who else?? Tentatives by my count are: rob, brie, achey, the retrievers and Kimba....any other takers??

Uh, I'm bailing out on this one also. I need to get my act together on my training before I start running out of staters.
