I have figured out my 2 weeks of vacation this summer and I will be traveling to Baton Rouge LA and Rockaway NJ and there are NO races with in reasonable distance for me to race in.

You know, those who don't race live excellent, fulfilling lives. I'm just saying.

That's too bad FB. Perhaps markryan could give you a little more insight on the matter and help you find ways to cope.

I still dream about racing. I miss it. The one race I had was literally one of the best days of my life. I even dreamed last night I was picking up a race packet.
Then again, the night before I dreamed I was incarcerated in a women's prison for a crime I did not do.
So, maybe I'm just screwy in la cabeza.

No, in all seriousness...
If you're in the middle of training in the long term and you depend on having a decent racing schedule, it would be the pits. Some really need those races to keep them prepped for upcoming events.
If it doesn't work out, try to relax and not worry so much about it.

The closest races I could find were all like 2 hours away and I have no desire to drive that far after spending the day before drive 10 - 14 hours. I guess I will just have to get in some good runs while I am on vacation!
I might have to see if I can hook up with MED and convince him to run a little slower and take me on a run.
I need races to keep me motivated to train. ( I swear I don't run to drink beer! all though lately that has been my mantra it seems and the beer is winning)

2 hrs away stinks!
have you checked with the rec departments in those towns? sometimes the smaller races don't make it onto a schedule...
