Please read!!
So here is my problem. I've been in a particular city's fire academy for about 13 out of 23 weeks. We started October 16. We generally run 3 days a week during about an hour and a half long pt session in the afternoon, usually no more than 5 miles. However, throughout the day we get 10 minute 'breaks'. During this 'break', we run 3/4 of a mile. In the mornings, after drill and ceremony, we usually run 8 laps (1/4 mile laps) 8 towers (6 story tower) and 8 trips across the monkey bars. During pt we wear shorts and shoes of our choice. All the rest is done in combat boots. We probably total 3 miles a day in these boots. They are 10 inch lace up boots just like you see the soldiers wearing. After 13 weeks of this my left knee is really hurting me. It started out gradually but last week i went to the dr and he put me on profile until this past tuesday. It was completely better until Wednesday we ran about 2 1/2 miles probably 1 of it sprinting and the pain came back. I have an mri set up for in the morning. I am super worried that i wont be able to finish the training and i'll be looking for a job. Btw i think my dr is an idiot bc he acted like he didnt buy my boot theory.
Was this caused by the boots?
Would i still have the pain if i wore running shoes the whole time?
And what can i do to hobble through???
Thanks so much for your response...
