Hi everybody I'm Bryan. I would like to introduce myself. I am a trail runner, but occasionally I will go the 5k or hit the mile just for a quick stress killer. I have been running for a year now. I started running when I lost my grandfather. I found, in running, a way to force everything out of my head and just think about being out on the trail in the cool air and the elements. I used it as a sort of therapy to deal with the loss, and I couldn't have done it any other way. Running teaches you to believe in yourself; to believe that, when you're about to drop, you ARE capable of finishing that last mile; to believe that you can do anything as long as you put your heart into it. I took the strength that I got from running and used it to find hope and inspiration amid the void that was so hard to fill. Now I simply run to stay healthy and because I love being out in the middle of the woods where everything is so pure and there are no cell phones or TV or people worrying their lives away over nothing. When you're out on the trail there is no arguing or discussing over politics, gender, race, or any other topic that the media has ran into the ground. It is just you and nature; it purifies the soul and mind. Each stride brings energy, both physical and mental.
I do not only run, but I am also a cardio fanatic. I love to Zumba, kickbox, and swim in my free time. I am also a big health and nutrition neat freak too. I believe that we are given one body and we are responsible for taking care of it.
If anybody is from Illinois, don't be shy. I am looking to connect with others in my region who enjoy running and wellness. I am shooting for a half-marathon next year, so any tips and advice would be a godsend. Enjoy your run! And as always, give great praise to the god Nike! Smile Smile
