I tried the endurance Gatorade last week. I couldn't really see a difference though.

OK, I had a chance to compare this with the original formula as far as labeling. The 2 differences I see are the Endurance Formula gives you 3X the potassium and nearly double the sodium. Everything else is the same. I have yet to try it for a long run but taste the same as the original I thought.

Yeah. Seen it. Wouldn't spend any time on it. It's a bullsh** product. Endurox R4 is definitely the way to go. Understanding what your body needs, and when, is more important, however. Start reading. I recommend Ed Burke's stuff (he's the guy who developed the R4 trademark, and who helped develop the polar heart rate monitor and the Camelbak).

Try Endurox R4 powder. Buy it in bulk. Save money. And eat more real food. Get lots of sleep. Drink a lot of water.

I tried this after the Chicago Distance Classic last Sunday.......I couldn't taste the difference between Endurance Formula and regular. Both are pretty tasty! Oh, they had it at the water stops too....Of course I can't tell if it made me run faster........... Surprised

I tried Gatorade EF at IMLP. I liked it. A little lighter and less aftertaste then the original. I get the powdered stuff at BJ's because it is cheap. Smile If they put out EF in powder I would get that.

Also, GU2O is good. They often run specials on buying a box of GU gel get a can of GU2O free. So it is basically 50% when you buy both.

I just got the GU 20 with a box of GU Gels and it really is good. I like that I can mix it myself, so I make it a little lighter.

Actually, you could make a 6-8% solution with Endurox and it would work better than every other sports drink on the market. Or, you could use Accelerade. Gatorade doesn't work. The fructose content is too high also. The Endurance formula is a step up, but Accelerade is better, period. The science doesn't lie. Bananas don't come close to what Endurox is doing.

Don't believe the hype from Cranksports. There is no science behind it. If there is, then show me the studies from peer-reviewed journals and indexed on Medline (National Institutes of Health and National Library of Medicine). It doesn't exist.

Accelerade contains simple sugars and is the best product since during a workout or competition, you need simple sugars DURING the exercise. Complex carbohydrates are almost useless during the exercise unless they've been in you for 2-3 hours. Accelerade is for use only DURING the exercise. If you're talking about events such as the marathon (26.2 miles) or longer endurance events such as an Ironman triathlon or 120-mile cycling event, then eating is essential. But for hydration during exercise most of us will do most of the time, simple sugars are best.

Accelerade was the first to add protein to the mix, based on research involving diabetes, and there is REAL research on the addition of protein to the simple sugars. Clearly, those products that have not added protein to the carb do not have as good:

hydration
absorption
insulin burst in the blood stream

Show me your "research". I'll show you the real deal. Accelerade for exercise, and Endurox for recovery. Here's a few from Medline:

After using it a few times I feel the difference was palpable. I don't really concern myself much with the science, but the results. I like the taste, no stomach issues and I did feel like my legs were fresher. Whether it is a psycosomatic response or not, I think I am going to stick with what works for me.
