First time ever running this small local race held in a town about 25 minutes away. Sponsored by Charity Lutheran Church, all proceeds were earmarked to assist hurricane victims which is a good thing. Got to church parking lot about 6:40 a.m., signed up, found Kimba and did the usual pre-race stretching, yacking and warm-up jog. We did score free parking in the church parking lot although there aren't any Dunkin' Donuts for probably a 50 mile radius. I'd guess race start time temp was around 57 degs and humidity was pretty much non-existant.
As usual, I don't remember much about the race itself other than it was 99% back roads in good ol' Wayne County farm country. Lots of corn and the occasional farmhouse pretty much summed up the scenery. They had water/gatorade stations about every 3 or 4 miles. I'm guessing maybe 50 or so people were running the 1/2, there was also a 2 mile race.
Splits were as follows:
m1: 6:37 (good downhill here)
m2: 7:13
m3: 7:17
m4: 7:21
m5: 7:03
m6: 6:59
m7: 7:06
m8: 7:01
m9: 7:08
m10: 7:19
m11: 7:29 (worst uphill on course)
m12: 7:27
last 1.1: 7:26.6
Overall time was 1:33:26 (7:08 pace) which is a 2 minute PR for me.
Placing was 14th OA and 1st in AG.
I won a drinking glass with the church logo on it.
I'm very happy with my time as I went into this one with basically no taper other than taking the day before the race off from running. Once again it was fun hooking up with Kim and she ran a fine race also. It is now time for a nap.

Congrats on the first place.
Now if it was a shot glass with the church logo, then we're talkin' hardware!

Looks like a shot glass to me. A rather large shotglass, but hey...

I love it, a drinking glass with a church logo on it. I guess the irony of hte whole things is you will be putting in some brewskis.
Well done.
