What would happen to someone that had extremely low body fat (<6%) if they went on Atkins?
/I'm not going on Atkins, just asking.

I believe that would make him invisible and he would be forced to rely on loud running shirts to keep from being run over by bovine women on their way to "free cone" day Baskin Robbins.

it depends on which "atkins" you'd be following....if you are doing the old school atkins, then metabolic acidosis would probably start happening within a few days. BUT you'd have to following the rules to the letter which, to me, is no carbohydrates. (not even a piece of gum)
here ya go: http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/ency/metabolic_acidosis.jsp
i think i'd rather be stomped on the way to baskin robbins.

I tend to think that if it were strict atkins you would start to metabolize muscle then, soon. also a stomach virus would have you admitted into the hospital since you'd have no reserves while you lost yout appetite. That's what they told me when i was extrremely low.
Don't do it John, Don't do it i beg of you.

Just jokin' for those of you who have actually lost weight and kept it off with Adkins...sort of!
