Crank up the PR talk
Good goin' man! Just mumble "three-something" when peeps ask how it went. Ya done just fine. Marathons are such a quandry. There's no tellin' what'll happen. Glad to read you're chompin' for the next one.
How the legs feeling now?

Congratulations!!!! That course is really a tough one and you came through with an awesome time, especially running with those leg cramps I.could.not.imagine.....
Glad to read you're feeling better today - walking front ways down the stairs is highly overrated

Congratulations on getting the first one under your belt and I'm impressed that you gutted it out to the finish. 10 miles fighting a hamstring and cramping is a testament to your will.
From one old engineer to another....Nice Work!!!!!
Were you at least able to enjoy the post race beer?

I only ran the first half and decided to call it a day. Somedays it is better to know that you don't have it.
I had a similar experience to you at Boston in 2002, ran the last 10 miles with my hamstrings locked up, and subsequently got hurt and missed 3 months of running. But it was Boston, I had put in a lot of time to be ready for that race and there was no way I wasn't going to finish. NO WAY. That's why you'll only hear positive responses about what you just accomplished from your fellow marathoners. It takes a lot of mental toughness to overcome the common sense of shutting it down.
Have a good recovery and in about a month we'll talk about your next one.

congrats Rob!
I know what you mean, man I have been there. That reads nearly identical to my Twin Cities experience in 2002. Properly trained, and every thing is going fine, and around mile 15, I started cramping.
Way to tough it out, and finish. I have been there, and know what you went through the last part of that race. It's tough, and you did well.
I'm proud of ya.

Having just walked a marathon, I can fully appreciate the pain you were feeling.
Nice job finishing and toughing it out.
It has been 3 weeks and my legs are still cramping on runs. Be sure to hydrate and don't skimp on the salt.
Congrats again,
Sheldon
